VTX
Unmatched Longevity: A Leap in Lifespan and Performance

Royal has consistently prioritized the longevity of its products, and the VTX switch is no exception. By enhancing operational smoothness and minimizing heat at connection points, the VTX is engineered for extended service life.

  • Laminate Hinge: A staple since 2011, the laminate hinge design has eliminated threads from the hinges, drastically increasing durability.
  • Solid Construction: Replacing the traditional two-piece gooseneck with a robust 1 ½” cold rolled steel rod ensures that the VTX withstands rigorous usage.
  • Precision Engineering: The gooseneck transition has been refined to an automobile quality rod end, tightening tolerances and enhancing the switch’s operation.
  • Efficient Heat Management: The innovative boltless current transfer method significantly reduces temperature rise, preventing wear and tear.

These improvements not only enhance the physical lifespan of the switch but also ensure consistent performance under varying operational conditions.

Simplified Adjustability: Enhanced Consistency and Reliability

In response to customer feedback, adjustability has been a focal point in the design of the VTX switch. The goal is to require fewer adjustments over the switch’s lifespan, simplifying maintenance and ensuring reliability.

  • Live Part Open Stop: Added to the VTX design, this feature eliminates the need for frequent alignment adjustments critical in GOAB operations.
  • Streamlined Designs: By reducing the number of live part designs, Royal ensures more uniform production and less variability in field operations.
  • Tightened Tolerances: The enhanced design precision reduces variability in switch operation, making adjustments less frequent and more intuitive.

These features collectively make the VTX switch not only easier to adjust but also significantly reduce the time and effort required for maintenance.

35 kV Vacuum Interrupter Attachment Available

In addition to longevity and adjustability, the VTX switch is equipped with the new RVI-38 Interrupter. This feature, capable of handling up to 35kV, will be showcased at the IEEE Trade Show, highlighting its superior current interrupting performance. The integration of this interrupter into the VTX switch underscores Royal’s commitment to providing comprehensive solutions that enhance the safety and efficiency of electrical grid operations.
